Introduction

This section guides you through setting up your development environment and running your first robot demos.

Read in this order (same as the sidebar):

  1. Install Environment

  2. Quick Demo (Public)

  3. open-deploy-ws Setup / fa-deploy-ws Setup

  4. FAQ if something fails

Do not start with the Quick Demo before ROS 2 Jazzy + rosdep are installed.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  • Ubuntu 24.04 (Jazzy Jalisco target platform)

  • ROS 2 Jazzy installed

  • Python 3.12 (Jazzy baseline; do not mix 3.10/3.11 venvs)

  • Git with GitHub access (SSH key, or HTTPS / gh auth — .gitmodules remotes are SSH)

  • 16GB+ RAM recommended for builds with simulation

  • NVIDIA GPU (optional, required for Isaac Sim)
